Kevin Kern

Kevin Kern (* 22. December 1958 as Kevin Lark Gibbs in Detroit ) is an American pianist and composer . He is one of the most famous representatives of the New Age music genre .

biography

At the age of 18 months, Kevin Kern played Silent Night, Holy Night on the piano. At the age of four he received regular piano lessons. He wrote his own compositions at the age of eight. In 1972 he first appeared with the music group The Well-Tempered Clavichord. Although he is almost blind, he has always been determined to become a pianist.

His publications include (in addition to two songbooks) eight regular albums with shallow piano miniatures. With the first one, titled In the Enchanted Garden , from 1996, it received a lot of attention. His last album Endless Blue Sky was released at the end of January 2009.

He made his first appearance in Taiwan in 2002 . Since it is popular in Asia, Endless Blue Sky only has a bonus track on the version intended for this region .

Kevin Kern is married to Pamela Gibbs. She helped him record his albums and played the Rainstick in The Winding Path ; Kern mentions them in the thanks in his later albums.
