Kiana Firouz

Kiana Firouz ( Persian کیانا فیروز; * April 21, 1983) is an Iranian filmmaker , actress and human rights activist.

In her homeland, Firouz made a documentary about human rights violations against lesbians . When the Iranian security forces discovered her activities, she was forced to flee to Great Britain and apply for political asylum there, which after a tough struggle with the support of human rights organizations such as Amnesty International was finally granted.

Her story was filmed in Great Britain in 2010 by the Iranian exiles Ramin Goudarzi Nejad and Mahshad Torkan under the title Cul-de-Sac (German dead end) with herself as the leading actress.
