Broken jaw
A broken jaw stands for:
- Maxillary fracture , a broken bone in the upper jaw
- Mandible fracture, a broken bone in the lower jaw
Jaw fracture is the official (albeit incorrect) abbreviation of part 2 of the Uniform Assessment Standard (BEMA) for dental services. However, BEMA Part 2 does not regulate the treatment of the broken jaw. This is done according to the fee schedule for doctors (GOÄ). See assessment standard for dental services # Part 2 - Treatment of facial skull injuries (broken jaw), TMJ diseases (bite aids)
