Martin Abraham (born September 20, 1978 in Moravská Třebová ) is a Czech football and futsal player .
Club career
After three smaller clubs, Martin Abraham played for FC Boby Brno from 1993 . There he was supposed to sign a kind of blank contract in 1997, in which both salary and duration would have been unknown to him. He refused and was then loaned to the then third division club FC Zeman Brno for six months. There he was so convincing that the club committed him to a transfer fee of 180,000 crowns . In the 1999/00 season, the midfielder played for FC Roubina Dolní Kounice , also in the third-tier MSFL.
In January 2001 Abraham was signed by the first division club 1. FC Slovácko . Abrahám played there regularly and played 95 games. For the 2005/06 season he moved to Slovan Liberec, with whom he became Czech champion.
Nevertheless, he moved to runner-up FK Mladá Boleslav , where he only stayed one season. In July 2007 he was signed by Sparta Prague . Abraham stayed with Sparta for only half a year, on February 15, 2008 he moved to city rivals Slavia Prague .
In August 2008 Abraham was loaned to the Cypriot club AEK Larnaka for six months after coach Karel Jarolím had previously suspended him. Then Abraham returned to Slavia Prague, where he had a valid contract, but was no longer in the squad. In January 2010, Abraham moved to the end of the season on loan to the second division club FC Tescoma Zlín . In August 2010 he moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden for a year . On January 10, 2012, the association announced that the contract, which ran until June 2012, would be terminated with immediate effect. So he returned to the Czech Republic on January 21, 2012 and signed for the Gambrinus League club Bohemians Prague 1905 . On July 18, 2012, he signed a contract with the German league club Budissa Bautzen (Oberliga Nordost-Süd), which was dissolved just 14 days later.
National team
Martin Abraham was called up by the Czech national coach Karel Brückner for the two qualifying games for the European Championship 2008 on October 7, 2006 against San Marino and on October 11, 2006 against Ireland , but was only on the bench in both games.
Futsal
Until his move to 1. FC Slovácko , Martin Abraham was also one of the best Czech futsal players . He played in the first division for Helas Brno and from September to December 2000 four times for the Czech national futsal team . For the 2008/09 season he made a comeback at SK Olympik Mělník .
