Kiel Football Association

The Kiel Football Association (KFB) was a local football association in Kiel that was founded in 1904 and was probably dissolved again in 1905.

KFB was founded on October 27, 1904 by Kieler SC 1899, FC Holsatia 1903 Kiel, SC Concordia 1903 Gaarden and FC Borussia 1903 Gaarden. Immediately beforehand, all four clubs had been excluded from the Kiel Ballspielvereine (VKB) association due to overdue contributions . In protest against the expulsion, FC Kilia also left the VKB in 1902 Kiel and joined the new association. The German Football Association forbade the establishment of the association and on November 7, 1904 pronounced a ban on its member clubs from playing against the five rebels.

Whether or not the KFB championship games took place and which clubs took part was only very vaguely indicated in the contemporary sports press. In a later side note, the Kieler SC 1899 was spoken of as champions, which, if this were true, would indicate that the strongest club at the time, Kilia, did not participate in the league games.

Kilia resigned from the KFB in January 1905 and returned to the VKB. It is not known when the Kiel Football Association dissolved, possibly only after the North German Football Association (NFV) was founded on April 15, 1905. In the 1905/06 season, all former KFB member clubs took part in the championship in District II of the NFV.
