Kilch

Kilch is the local name for various fish species of the Coregonus genus , which are found mainly in the foothills of the Alps in Switzerland and Bavaria . They are also known as Kröpfling , Kirchfisch , Kilchen or Kropffelchen .

These are:

  • Gravenche ( Coregonus hiemalis ), Lake Geneva
  • Bodensee-Kilch ( Coregonus gutturosus , synonym: Coregonus acronius ), Lake Constance
  • Chiemsee-Kilch ( Coregonus sp. ), Chiemsee
  • Ammersee-Kilch ( Coregonus bavaricus ), Ammersee
  • Small deer ( Coregonus pidschian ), also known as the European kilch
