The Kildare County Football Club was an Irish football club from the city of Newbridge in County Kildare . The club was only founded in 2002, but continues to play in the lower division of the League of Ireland , the First Division, until it is dissolved .
history
When St. Francis FC withdrew during the current season from the League of Ireland in 2001 , the club Newbridge Town was offered admission to the league. After some negotiation, however, it was agreed to found a new club, which should have its home in the stadium in Newbridge Town. The first three seasons ended Kildare County in each case on the best place, which did not qualify for direct promotion or to participate in the promotion play-offs . In all three cases, Kildare County was missing only one win for promotion to the Premier Division , but remained in second place.
