Kim Kirschen (born September 16, 1996 in Berlin ) is a German foil fencer and multiple German champion in the cadet and juniors categories.

Life

Kim Kirschen has been a fencer at SC Berlin since 2005 . Until she graduated from high school, she trained in a sports school in Berlin. Her father and sister also trained there beforehand, albeit in a sword. She has been a member of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group since 2017 and trains at the Tauberbischofsheim Olympic base with national coach Giovanni Bortolaso.

Career

Kirschen was named Berlin Youth Sportswoman of the Year three times in a row (2011/2012/2013). In 2012 she was able to qualify for the European Cadet Championship and the World Cadet Championship. In 2013 she made it into the top 10 at the U17 European and World Championships, became German Cadet Champion 2013 and U17 German Champion in the same year. In 2016 she won the U20 German Championships in individual and team. Kirschen also prevailed at international tournaments in 2018 and 2019 and achieved various top 10 placements and medals.
