A children's tricycle is a toy for toddlers in the form of a tricycle . Somewhat different from children's automobiles , it serves less to imitate corresponding vehicles for adolescents and adults, i.e. means of transport, than to promote physical mobility at the stage of development .

Usually the single front wheel is both steered and driven directly with pedals, i.e. without a chain . In addition, many children's tricycles have a handrail at the rear for an accompanying person. With some models, the children can also be buckled up.
