The Kinderglück Dortmund eV , registered as an association for the establishment and promotion of the Kinderglück Dortmund eV Foundation , was founded in 2007 by Bernd Krispin in Dortmund in the legal form of a registered association . Kinderglück Dortmund eV is active in child and youth welfare and supports traumatized, sick and child poverty affected young people and children in Germany and increasingly in the Dortmund area. In 2018, the co-founders were awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia for their voluntary work in Kinderglück Dortmund eV .

Kinderglück projects (selection)
- Kinderglück school satchels: A major project of the association is the annual school satchel project that benefits children from socially disadvantaged families. In 2018, the association donated more than 1,500 school satchels that were requested by daycare workers. The distribution takes place without the presence of the children so that they do not know that it is a donation. The Kinderglück Dortmund eV justifies this measure with findings that say that children who are constantly confronted with their poverty develop a lower self-esteem.
- Children's happiness pillows: The pillows are sewn by volunteers at pillow parties and donated to children's clinics and rescue control centers. They serve as the first consolation donors for sick and injured children. A total of 5,000 pieces are distributed each year.
- Vacation sponsorships: The association finances vacation stays for children from supervised living situations and for children and young people affected by child poverty.
- Kinderglück finca: The finca "Casa de los niños felices" on Mallorca is available to children and young people from inpatient and outpatient care as well as groups with chronically ill children.
- KiTaletics: Sports prevention program for kindergarten children in the Dortmund area, which has been carried out by trained trainers in day-care centers since 2018. The offer is free for the daycare center.
- BVB days: Invitation of children and young people to Borussia Dortmund home games .
- Cultural funding: Support for theater projects that benefit children and young people or are carried out by children and young people.

Awards
Bernd Krispin was elected Dortmund of the Year in September 2017 for his commitment. In August 2018, the couple Susanne Krispin and Bernd Krispin received the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia from Prime Minister Armin Laschet for their voluntary work with the help of Kinderglück Dortmund eV .
