Kinfauns Castle

Kinfauns Castle is a crenellated country house in the Scottish administrative division of Perth and Kinross . Lord Gray had it built between 1822 and 1826 based on plans by Robert Smirke on the site of an earlier medieval fortress.

Today, Scottish businesswoman Ann Gloag lives in the house that Historic Scotland has listed as a Category A Historic Building. The property has also been included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland .

The enclosed garden and gardener's house were designed by Francis William Deas in 1910 .

The steamship RMS Kinfauns Castle of the Union-Castle Line is named after this country house and was launched in 1899. The ship was painted by Charles de Lacy .
