Kinji Zeniya

Kinji Zeniya ( Japanese 銭 谷 欽 治 , Zeniya Kinji ; born March 13, 1953 in Kaga ) is a former badminton player from Japan .

Career

Kinji Zeniya won his first Japanese championship title in 1974 in men's singles. After a title break in 1975 he won four championships in a row from 1976 to 1979. In 1981 he was successful in both singles and doubles. In 1984 he won his last individual title.

At the first Badminton World Cup in 1977 he had Flemming Delfs on the verge of defeat, but was eliminated by the eventual title holder in the round of 16 with 15: 7, 15:17 and 12:15. In 1979 he was in the semi-finals with the Japanese Thomas Cup team, and three years later in the quarter-finals of this world championship for men's teams.
