Tilt window syndrome is a veterinary term . When trying to slip through a crack in a tilted window , animals - mostly cats - often get stuck. Through attempts at liberation, they slide further and further down. This interrupts the blood supply to the pressure point. Pathophysiologically, the syndrome is a subtype of ischemic myopathy .

The consequences of prolonged hanging are severe neurological damage in the area of ​​the hind limbs, and pressure necrosis has also been described. As a long-term consequence, embolism can develop . If the animals are not freed, they will die.

In addition to providing medical treatment for the trauma, performing animal physiotherapy has positive effects on the healing process.
