After the Reformation , Lorsbach became Protestant and the church built in 1551 was also Protestant. From 1895 a Catholic chapel congregation met again in a private house. By the First World War , the number of Catholics had risen to such an extent that concrete plans were made for a Catholic Church. The parish acquired the property at Brückenstrasse 11 and commissioned the Frankfurt architects Hans and Christoph Hummel with a design.

The construction was carried out under the supervision of the Hofheim master mason Johann Reinhardt. The foundation stone was laid on September 8, 1915, and inaugurated as the Sacred Heart Chapel on July 9, 1916.

During the Second World War , the church windows were damaged and a bell melted down, which was replaced in 1965 by a bell from the Hofheim church.

Together with Langenhain, Lorsbach was merged to form the Lorsbach / Langenhain parish. The community center has been in Langenhain since the 1970s. In 2007 the parishes were restructured and the parish of Lorsbach / Langenhain became part of the parish of St. Peter and Paul in Hofheim am Taunus .
