Information board at the church

The date of construction of the church, which is consecrated to Saint Donatus , is given (contradictingly) with the 9th century or the first half of the 12th century according to the information board on the church.

The church is about 12 mx 7 m in size, has a cruciform floor plan and consists of a Romanesque cross vault , in front of which there is a rectangular entrance area in the west; it was built from the local limestone .

The outside of the vault of the church is made of uncut stones; the hewn stones at the base of the walls indicate that the original cladding has been lost.

The church is a sight and is valid next to the church Sv. Donat in Zadar and the Church of the Holy Cross (Nin) as one of the most important testimonies of ancient Croatian architecture.
