Kirkeporten is a striking rock formation in the form of a rock portal on the island of Magerøya in the municipality of Nordkapp in the Norwegian province of Troms og Finnmark .

The Mefjord extends to the west . About one kilometer as the crow flies east of Kirkeporten is the place Skarsvåg , from which a hiking trail leads to Kirkeporten. About six kilometers to the northwest, separated by the Vestfjord , is the North Cape Plateau and the North Cape Horn .

Kirkeporten is a popular hiking destination. Through the portal, the name of which means church portal in German , the view of the North Cape Horn falls in a north-westerly direction and, at the appropriate times, the midnight sun .

Kirkeporten has a religious meaning in the Sami tradition.
