The Kishinev Barbarians are an American football team based in Chișinău , Republic of Moldova .

The club was founded in 1994, but it was not until 2000 that football equipment could be procured and gaming operations started. Due to a lack of opponents in their own country, the barbarians played their first two games in 2001 against teams from Ukraine . There was a 0: 108 defeat against the Donetsk Scythians and a 0:58 against the Kiev Slavs . In 2002 and 2003, the barbarians, as Moldovan champions, took part in the Eurobowl competition, but were eliminated in the first round.
