Vailima Kiwi FC is a Samoan football club from the capital Apia , which plays in the Samoa Premier League , the highest American-Samoan football league.
history
Kiwi FC was founded in 1977 by New Zealand students in Apia. The club won its first championship in the Upolu First Division seven years after it was founded in the 1984 season and won the championship again the following year. Another success followed in 1997 in the newly founded Champ of Champions League. After the Samoa Football Federation founded the Samoa Premier League in 2006, Kiwi won the Samoan Championship again in 2011 and 2012. In addition, the club reached the Cup final of Samoa for the first time in 1997 .
In 2010 Kiwi was able to win the only Samoa Cup so far , after a 3-0 final victory over Moaula United . In the two following years they could reach the final, but lost in 2011 after a 5-2 Moaula United and 2012 after a 2-1 after extra time Lupe o le Soaga .
On September 8, 2013, took over the brewery Vailima Breweries the vacant space of the main sponsor and also acquired for $ 15,000, the naming rights to the club that from now on as Vailima Kiwi FC plays.
In October 2013 it was possible for the first time in the history of the club to enter the decisive qualifying tournament for the OFC Champions League . The club prevailed at the OCL Preliminary tournament in American Samoa with three wins over host Pago Youth from American Samoa, Lotoha'apai United from Tonga and Tupapa Maraerenga from the Cook Islands . On October 19, 2013, the club won the decisive game at the Pago Park Soccer Stadium in American Samoa 3-0 against Tupapa Maraerenga from the Cook Islands and qualified for the OFC Champions League for the first time in history.

The team plays its home games in the 3,500-seat Football Federation Samoa BH on Field 3 in Apia.
Women's soccer
The club has also had a women's soccer team since 2000, which plays in the highest Samoan women's soccer league , the GM Bakery Ladies First Division . The club was able to reach the final tournament of the cup competition in 2000, but was only second behind Matautu Youth. A year later the team celebrated their first title after a 4-0 final victory over the Lepea Soccer Club. A year later in the 2002 season, the team celebrated their first championship and cup double. This was followed by three more championships in 2004, 2007 and 2011, in the successor league of the GM Bakery Ladies First Division.
