The Kizuna Bridge (also Spien Kizuna ) is a road bridge that crosses the Mekong near the city of Kampong Cham .

When it opened in 2001, it was the first to cross the Mekong in Cambodia . It was also the longest bridge in Cambodia at 1500 meters. It was replaced in 2002 by a 1900 meter long bridge in the city of Koh Kong .

Construction began in 1999 and lasted three years. The $ 56 million financing was provided by the Japanese government. This is also reflected in the name: Spien means bridge in Khmer and Kizuna is Japanese for connection between people or peoples .

The Kizuna Bridge is part of National Road 7 .
