Klaas Hendrikse

Klaas Hendrikse (born September 1, 1947 in Groot-Ammers , † June 26, 2018 in Middelburg ) was a Dutch preacher of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands . He made for fame as the "atheistic pastor" ("atheistic dominee").

Life

Hendrikse studied at Nyenrode University of Economics (1968–1970) and Michigan State University (1971–1972). From 1972-1983 he worked for Xerox . He was interested in religion, so that he studied theology at the Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht from 1977 to 1983 and became a preacher. In 2006 he attracted attention in the Dutch media with his confession that he did not believe in a personalized God. In 2007 a book was published in which he expressed his view.
