Class conference
Class conferences are instruments of school administration. A class conference usually deals with matters that affect a school class or individual members.
When a class conference is called, which people take part in it and which matters fall under their responsibility, is regulated in Germany on a case-by-case basis in the state school laws, usually the participants are all teachers teaching in the class, two or three members of the parents and two or three representatives the student body. In the case of class conferences that are called due to an offense and at which regulatory measures are to be imposed, the school director must be invited or be the person charging.
In some federal states there are also references to class conferences in the school laws, but these are not specified in more detail.
The class conference decides on the following matters:
- Regulatory measures, in the form of a written reference, the retraining to another school of the same educational path, a temporary reference to lessons, not only in all subjects, but also specifically in individual subjects.
- Type and scope of support measures if difficulties in reading, spelling or arithmetic are identified ( dyslexia , dyscalculia )
