In contrast to the teacher room system , in which the classes change rooms, the teachers in the class room system have the task of changing rooms between lessons.

All classes in the class - with the exception of classes in special subject rooms such as physical education and chemistry classes - take place in the classroom assigned to the class.

This system is often used in elementary and secondary schools .
