Small field hockey

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Small field hockey is a type of hockey .

Small field hockey is usually played on a square marked across the regular playing field. Two small fields fit on one large field. In addition to training, mini-field hockey is played especially in the children's, senior and leisure areas, but also in regular game traffic. In small field hockey, five or six field players play with or without a goalkeeper. Other variants are mini hockey with four players without a goalkeeper and three-quarter field hockey with eight players and a goalkeeper. Substitutions are possible at any time in the game.

The advantage of small field hockey are the shorter distances between the shooting circles, which correspond in size to regular field hockey. This makes the game faster and richer in goal area situations. And of course it's easier to get five or six players together than eleven.

Small field hockey has now become an integral part of the hockey game business. The German Hockey Association has issued recommendations for different variants.
