Small animal practice

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A small animal practice is a veterinary practice that specializes in the treatment of small and pet animals , which make up more than 90% of patients. It is led by at least one resident veterinarian . As a rule, a veterinary medicine chest is also operated. Due to the higher degree of specialization, more extensive services are usually offered than in a mixed practice . In 2011, 5,751 veterinarians were active in the field of small animals in Germany, that is 48.6% of practicing veterinarians.

In contrast to a small animal clinic , there are no minimum requirements for the technical and personnel equipment as well as for the operating times of a small animal practice .
