Under clinodactyly is generally understood as the innate usually side-angled bend of a phalanx in the hand skeleton. One distinguishes the
- Clinoteledactyly : bending in the end joint (distal interphalangeal joint)
- Clinomesodactyly : bending in the middle joint (proximal interphalangeal joint)
- Clinobasodactyly : angulation in the base joint ( metacarpophalangeal joint )
