The Klong Kantruem (also: Glong Gantruem ; in Thai กลอง กัน ต รึ ม ) is a musical instrument and belongs to the group of membranophones . It is played in the south of Isan (the northeast region of Thailand ).

The Klong Kantruem is made of soft wood, such as khanun or coconut wood. The top is covered with calfskin, which is held in tension by a number of ropes. It is a set of two components, with a so-called male drum (with a higher sound) and a female drum (with a lower sound). The sound is created by drumming by hand.

The Klong Kantruem is played in all ensembles and is also used as an accompanying instrument in folk dances.
