Apolo Monastery
The monastery Apolo (lat .: Abbatia BMV de Nazareth ; span .: Monasterio de Nuestra Señora de Nazareth ) is a Cistercian - Abbey in Apolo in Bolivia , Roman Catholic Diocese of Coroico .
In 1929 (on the initiative of Abbots Alois Wiesinger , Gabriel Fazeny and Justinus Wöhrer ) , sisters were sent from various Bavarian Cistercian monasteries, including the Thyrnau Monastery and the Waldsassen Monastery , to found a monastery in Bolivia. Among the sisters was the first abbess of Waldsassen, Sister Richmunda Herrnreither . The project was later expanded to include the Colegio Ave Maria .
There is a hostel in the monastery and agricultural products such as B. Wine, manufactured and sold.
