Aufkirchen Monastery
The Aufkirchen Monastery is a former Augustinian monastery in Aufkirchen ( Bavaria ) in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising . Today the Discalced Carmelites (OCD) live there .
history
The monastery consecrated to St. Mary was founded in 1686 by Elector Maximilian II Emanuel of Bavaria. In the course of secularization , the monastery was dissolved in 1803. In 1896 the second monastery of Discalced Carmelites was founded here in Bavaria.
