The Mezhyhirya Monastery was a monastery in Ukraine , which is located in Novi Petrivtsi north of the capital Kiev on the banks of the Dnepr was.

It was founded in 988 as one of the first East Slavic monasteries of the Kievan Rus . The monastery was badly damaged or destroyed several times by acts of war and fires. It was last extensively renovated in 1894 and, after the work was completed, converted into a convent in the same year. After the October Revolution it was closed in 1918 and demolished by the Soviet Union from 1935 to 1936 based on a decision by the Politburo.

After the demolition, a country residence for officials of the Communist Party of Ukraine was built in place of the monastery . The Meschyhirja residence was last used as a private residence by the former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych until his dismissal in February 2014.
