Wesemlin Monastery

The Wesemlin Monastery is a Capuchin monastery founded in 1584 on the Wesemlin Hill in Lucerne . The founding of the monastery was made possible by a donation from the Lucerne councilor Kaspar Pfyffer (1524-1616). In 1674/75 the monastery complex was expanded. In 1730 a library building was built. From 1953 to 1957 the monastery was extensively rebuilt. From 2013 to 2015 there was a division into a monastery area with the seat of the Swiss Capuchin Province, a meeting zone and areas for third-party tenants.
