history

The religious order in the Wilberghaus on today's Hofstrasse behind the Würzburg Cathedral lived according to rules that had been drawn up in 1366 by a sister Wilberg with the assistance of Guardian Ludwig von Own. According to their statutes, the women's community should not have more than 13 sisters. In 1579 the rule house was dissolved and sold for 250 guilders. The proceeds were distributed among the last sisters.
