Break point (measurement)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A kink is a special routing element in railway construction . Unlike other routing elements, it is used for information only. It describes a bend in the track where a straight line without a circle or transition curve (with a kink) changes direction. Usually the length from the beginning of the routing element to the bend and an outgoing angle are given. If the outgoing angle were 180 °, the straight line would continue without a kink. A straight line follows a break point.
