Knee coat

The knee coat was part of the military clothing of the Prussian army .

It consisted of a white leather that was worn by the tambours on the left thigh to protect the cloth clothing from being chafed and rubbed by the drum . With the exception of the Grand Ducal Hessian Division , it was used by all Prussian armed forces.
