Bone conduction hearing aid

Bone conduction receiver that rests directly on the skull bone.

In bone conduction hearing aids there are special hearing aids that do not have sound , but strong vibrations produce. They are not inserted into the external ear canal , but rather placed on the skull bone behind the ear. The vibration is transmitted directly to the inner ear , bypassing the middle ear . This is known as bone conduction .

Bone conduction hearing aids with a glasses frame are mostly designed as hearing glasses . The microphone and the electronics may be incorporated into an eyeglass temple, the bent end on the temporal bone rests behind the auricle and the vibrations of the petrous transmits that envelops the inner ear.

A similar function is achieved with a bone-anchored partially implanted hearing aid (BAHA, B one A nchored H earing A id).
