The pedunculate oak ( Quercus robur ) has been listed as a natural monument by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the Pinneberg district with the number 37/04 since December 19, 1997. It has a trunk circumference of 3.90 meters (2011) at a height of one meter and is one of the historically significant places in the Pinneberg district. The age of the tree is estimated to be 200 to 250 years. According to legend, after a cruel fate, a poor cook is buried under the tree. In the surrounding villages there are very different versions of the cruel fate of the poor cook circulating, but without any further clues.
It is one of the distinctive and old trees in southern Schleswig-Holstein and the highest and most imposing natural monument in the Pinneberg district.
