The cooking mill is the eighth mill in Siebenmühlental and belongs to Stetten auf den Fildern , a district of Leinfelden-Echterdingen . Milling was carried out in it until 1931.

history

It was first mentioned in a document in 1451. Adjacent to it are three barns and a bakery from 1551. The mill was divided into two parts in 1836; Today, one part of the building houses a restaurant, the other an architectural office. It was not until 1956 that the mill was electrified. In 1979 the mill building was designated as a cultural monument . In the past, the cooking mill also had a stop of the same name on the former Siebenmühlentalbahn .

  • 1621–1682 the mill was called Janowitzer Mühle - named after the owner family
  • 1682–1720 Thumbsche Mühle - named after the owner family
  • A Koch family lived there from 1720–1956, which explains the current name of the mill
