Kodi ( spelling : KODi ) is a housewares discounter based in Oberhausen . The company has existed since 1981 and has 222 branches, 210 of which are located in North Rhine-Westphalia . The name KODi is made up of “KO” for cook and “Di” for discounter.

history

Kodi was founded in 1981 by the SPAR grocery wholesaler Karl Koch & Sohn from Langenfeld. In 1982 the first branch was opened in Düsseldorf-Rath. In the mid-1980s, the Karl Koch & Sohn company was transferred to SPAR Handels-AG. Kodi was sold to Meridian Immobilien- und Verwaltungs GmbH in Leipzig on January 1st, 2002 .

Products

The permanent range includes around 3,000 items from the areas of household goods, stationery and office supplies, candles and gifts, drugstores, small electrical appliances and home improvement items, pet food and confectionery. In addition to its own brands Provida, Casalino, Minea, Pick & Eat and Glurexx, Kodi also carries selected items from well-known brand manufacturers such as Melitta Toppits, Persil, Severin, Pelikan, Pritt, Nivea, Schwarzkopf, Katjes, Mars, Ferrero and many more. In addition, there are special and seasonal goods that change on a weekly basis.
