Trunk lining

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trunk linings provide additional protection against dirt or wear and tear on the trunk of a car . They come in addition to the factory lining of a trunk with carpet, synthetic fiber fabric or the like. Especially used when trunk tubs or trunk mats do not offer enough protection or are too inflexible. Trunk linings can usually be removed and cleaned again with little effort. A trunk lining is often used by pet owners or craftsmen, as the trunk is subject to particularly high loads. Most trunk linings are roughly adapted to the dimensions of the various car models, but there are also solutions specially adapted to individual car models. These are offered directly by the manufacturer or by specialized accessory manufacturers.

variants

Trunk linings are often made of easy-to-clean PVC . The properties of PVC allow the linings to adapt to the interior walls of the trunk .

Alternatively, there are also plastic or rubber linings , which mainly protect the floor of the trunk, but also secure part of the interior walls through raised edges and which have an anti-slip and liquid-repellent effect due to the material properties.

Some trunk linings also offer additional functions such as bumper protection or the option of dividing the rear bench seat in order to allow flexibility for the car owner despite the lining.
