Kinotita

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kinotita ( Greek Κοινότητα ( f. Sg. ), Also Koinotita in Latin inscription, Pl. K [ o ] inotites, Greek Κοινότητες ) is the Greek term for rural community .

Greece

In Greece , this form of municipality was abolished with the Kallikratis program of administrative reform from 2010, the municipalities (also reduced from over 1000 to a good 350) since then have all been operating under the Greek δήμος Dimos , which originally only referred to the township (from the ancient Greek concept of demos as electoral people of the city-state). The Kinotites can still be found in the LAU-1 level (mostly municipal associations / large municipalities) of the Greek NUTS breakdown for EU statistics. Accordingly, the term Kinotiko and Dimotiko diamerismata can also be found as a subdivision of the community (LAU 2).

Cyprus

In the Republic of Cyprus , the Koinotita form exists as a rural community. There they, together with the Dimi as a municipality, form the LAU-2 level (municipality term in the German-speaking sense) of the Cypriot NUTS classification for EU statistics.
