Komama

Komama was an ancient city in the Pisidia region of Asia Minor near today's Ürkütlü in the district of Bucak in the Turkish province of Burdur .

Komama first appears in the late Hellenistic period when the city minted its own coins. Under Augustus it was established around the year 6 BC. To the Roman colony Colonia Julia Augusta Prima Fida Comama , which also minted coins in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD. In late antiquity, Komama was the seat of a bishop; The titular Comama of the Roman Catholic Church goes back to the diocese .

Only a few archaeological remains of the city have survived, particularly in the form of spoils in the surrounding villages.
