Kombissiri was the scene of a meeting between the British Lieutenant Northcott and the French Captain Arminion at the end of the 19th century , at which the two colonial powers sealed the border between their territories. The ruler of the Mossi empire Ouagadougou , who fled from the French to the British colony of Gold Coast , had hoped from this meeting that with the help of the British he could regain his rule, which they had previously promised him.
