Komerční banka ( KB , German literally commercial or economic bank) is one of the largest banks in the Czech Republic . It has around 1.5 million customers in more than 350 branches.

The bank was founded in 1990 after the commercial activities of the former Státní banka československá (State Bank of Czechoslovakia ) separated. In 1992 the bank was partially privatized (see coupon privatization ). In 2001 the government sold its 60% stake in the French bank Société Générale for around EUR 1.44 billion.

The Komerční banka logo is identical to that of the parent company Société Générale. Only the lettering has been replaced by the initials KB .
