Komerční banka ( KB , German literally commercial or economic bank) is one of the largest banks in the Czech Republic . It has around 1.5 million customers in more than 350 branches.
The bank was founded in 1990 after the commercial activities of the former Státní banka československá (State Bank of Czechoslovakia ) separated. In 1992 the bank was partially privatized (see coupon privatization ). In 2001 the government sold its 60% stake in the French bank Société Générale for around EUR 1.44 billion.
