August Weber

August Weber (born September 29, 1875 in Bochum , † December 9, 1963 in Dorsten ) was a German politician (center).

August Weber was born the son of a miner. After attending primary school and the preparatory facility in Bochum, he was trained at the teachers' college in Odenkirchen from 1894 to 1897 . From 1897 until his transfer to Bochum in October 1901, he taught as a primary school teacher in Odenkirchen. He taught there until 1923, before being promoted to rector on April 1, 1923.

As a Catholic, Weber was the chairman of the Catholic Teachers' Association of the German Reich. In addition, he was politically active in the Catholic Center Party , for which he was a member of the Reichstag from March to November 1933 as a member of constituency 18 (Westphalia South). In the Reichstag, Weber voted, among other things, for the adoption of the Enabling Act of March 1933 introduced by the Hitler government , which formed the legal basis for the establishment of the Nazi dictatorship.
