Compromate
The compromise ( Russian компромат , short for компрометирующий материал ) is a term originally derived from the jargon of the Soviet secret service KGB for compromising material, usually about a politician or another public figure. Such material can be used to discredit undesirable people or to co-operate with threats to publish the material.
It is now used broadly to refer to material (such as sex videos ) that could harm a person if published.
