Komunistim Ivrim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Komunistim Ivrim ( Hebrew קומוניסטים עברים, lit. Hebrew Communists) was a political party in Palestine. It was founded in 1945 by members of the Communist Party of Palestine , or PKP for short ( Yiddish פאלעסטינישע קומוניסטישע פרטיי), which left the PKP in 1943. The party existed until the founding of Israel in 1948, when it was absorbed into the Communist Party of Israel (Maki). However, after Eliezer Preminger left the Maki in 1949, the party was re-established on June 8, 1949. It was finally dissolved when Preminger joined the Mapam on August 15, 1949 .
