Walter Davoine (born March 27, 1935 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Player career

The used on the position of right defender Davoine first played in Montevideo for Club Atlético Peñarol , where he made his debut in 1954. Other sources already list him in Peñarol's squad from 1952, with the exception of 1954 up to and including 1957. Definitely part of the regular formation, however, he is only led in the position of right half at Marcos Silvera Antúnez in 1957 . After his stint with the "Aurinegros" he played for River Plate. Later belonged to the squad of the Rampla Juniors in the first division season of 1959. In 1960 he completed 15 games for the Boca Juniors in neighboring Uruguay . From 1961 to 1965 he was also under contract in Argentina with Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata . His usage statistics show 129 games and one hit. In 1966 he played again in Uruguay for Club Atlético Cerro . That year he ended his career.

National team

Davoine was part of the Uruguayan junior national team, which took part in the 1954 South American Junior Championship in Venezuela and won the title. During the tournament he was used by coach Gerardo Spósito six times (no goal). He was also a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed six internationals between March 14, 1959 and December 22, 1959, in which he can not show any personal goal. With the Celeste he took part in both the South American Championship in Argentina in 1959 and the second tournament of that year in Ecuador . At the latter event he won the title with Uruguay.
