Declaration of conformity

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The declaration of conformity is a written confirmation at the end of a conformity assessment with which the person responsible (e.g. manufacturer, dealer, operator, entrepreneur) for a product, the provision of a service or an organization (e.g. test laboratory, operator of a quality management system ) Declares and confirms that the object (product, service, position, QMS) has the properties specified on the declaration. The specification of the properties is usually done by specifying standards that the object complies with. If a declaration of conformity relates to a product, it certifies that it conforms to the specified specifications (e.g. directives, standards), but is not a guarantee of quality or durability for an individual, supplied product.

Definition according to the international standard ISO / IEC 17000: " (Conformity) declaration: Creation of a confirmation (confirmation = declaration of conformity based on a decision that follows the assessment that the fulfillment of specified requirements has been demonstrated) by the provider. "

The subject of a declaration of conformity is not restricted. This means that the conformity of products, processes, people, positions and management systems can be declared.
