Konrad Bolten (actor)

Konrad Bolten , also Conrad Bolten (before 1870 - after 1922) was a theater actor and theater director.

Life

After Bolten tried acting in Berlin, he came to Greifswalde in 1890 and to Heilbronn in 1891, where he stayed for two years, from 1893 to 1894 he was in Zwickau, 1895 in Rostock, from 1896 to 1897 at the Hoftheater Coburg , from where he started Residenztheater in Hanover came, worked there for two years, around 1900 he joined the Association of the Cologne City Theater , where he was in the ensemble until at least 1902 and was a member of the local committee of the Cooperative of German Theater Members .

He later emigrated to America and from 1907 at the latest he was a member of the ensemble of the United German Theaters of Milwaukee and Chicago and later director of the German theater in Milwaukee. Nothing is known about his further life after 1922.

Artistic appreciation

He represented the subject of youthful heroes and lovers in the best possible way. Even in the smallest roles he deserved honorable mention and, despite his brief activity in Cologne, was already well on the way to general popularity. The artist used a beautiful language, was expressive in play and movement, showed the genuinely artistic side of his creative power at every opportunity and displayed a healthy relationship with the poetic figures he effectively embodied.

Among his characteristic, interesting achievements are: " Don Cesar ", " Don Carlos ", " Romeo ", "Ferdinand", "Hereditary Prince" in braid and sword etc.
