Konrad Ritzinger

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Konrad Ritzinger (* before 1995) is a Bavarian cabaret artist .

The artist

Konrad Ritzinger from Niederaichbach is a trained administrative officer and worked for the government of Lower Bavaria . In addition, he performed as a solo artist with a cabaret program, mainly in Lower Bavaria, where he gained an increasingly large audience.

His style is characterized by parodic elements and everyday observations with sometimes bizarre heightening. Also typical for Ritzinger are larger pieces of music in the program in which he accompanies himself on the guitar. The people he embodies as "types" are located in the rural, small-town milieu of Lower Bavaria and Ritzinger caricatures - for example in the role of the fire brigade commander - with keen observation, but without hurtful intent, the peculiarities and weaknesses of his fellow men. His proposal to equip the cooling tower of the Ohu nuclear power plant with a handle "to fit it as an oversized beer mug into the Bavarian landscape" has become famous.

In 1995 Konrad Ritzinger won the Paulaner Solo + cabaret competition , which was won by Django Asül and Helmut Schleich, among others . Furthermore, Ritzinger was awarded the “Vils-Laus” cabaret prize, an award that was also awarded to Dieter Hildebrandt and Richard Rogler.

The accident and life after

Ritzinger was on his way to the top ranks of Bavarian cabaret artists when an accident in 1997 drastically changed his life. As a member of the volunteer fire brigade , Ritzinger was hit by a falling beam during an operation and has since then been paraplegic, very visually impaired and therefore permanently dependent on outside help.
