Alexander von Sobeck

Alexander Freiherr von Sobeck-Skal (born December 12, 1955 in Munich ) is a German journalist and publicist .

Life

Freiherr von Sobeck-Skal is the only son of Viktor Freiherr von Sobeck-Skal and Kornitz (1926-2010) and Agnes Freiin von Müffling (1925-2010). His grandmothers came from the Russian and Austrian nobility. In his hometown of Munich, he graduated from high school and completed a law degree. During his studies he started at the Süddeutscher Rundfunk . For almost ten years he worked for Bayerischer Rundfunk , in 1988 he worked for ARD as a reporter for the Tagesschau . He later switched to ZDF and was director of the Tel Aviv studio from 2001 to 2003 .

From 2003 to 2014 he was ZDF correspondent and studio manager in Paris . In August 2014 he moved to Rome as studio manager . He held this post until August 2019. Since September 2019 he has been working as a special correspondent in the reporter pool of the ZDF main news department.

He is married and his wife brought two daughters into the marriage. He is a member of the Catholic student union K.St.V. Rheno-Bavaria Munich in the cartel association .
